TRIBUTE: TRIBUTE TO MY PRECIOUS LITTLE MOTHER
I've begun this tribute to my precious little mother, May Rose Salkin, several times, but just can't get through it in one sitting. As I speak with the oh-so-many people who loved her, new thoughts come to me to share with you.
TRIBUTE: CLARENCE, THE SINGING DOG
TRIBUTE: CLARENCE, THE SINGING DOG Mr. X and I could not have asked for anything more out for our choice of the one being to share our lives. Clarence was the best dog I’ve ever seen or heard of. Not only was he the sweetest, most loving and caring and affectionate pal ever, but he literally didn’t give us even one second to be angry at him for in the almost eighteen years that we were blessed to have him with us.
CELEB SIGHTINGS: CELEBRITY SIGHTINGS 10(!)
4/13/11 The biggest sighting EVER! Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie! Sitting just four rows in front of me at the Ahmanson Theatre for opening night of God Of Carnage. They both had slicked-back longish hair and were as quiet and sedate as can be. I don’t get excited over any sightings, in general, unless it’s a sports guy or someone I have a slight celeb crush on, (Simon Baker, Hugh Jackman, Tom Welling,) but I was positively giddy over this one. They’re my favorite couple ever. I love their kindness and generosity, and am so thrilled that they found each other in time to share their riches, including of spirit, with so many children.
LIVE PRODUCTION: CIRQUE DU SOLEIL: OVO
In all my years of observing every kind of cultural event, even going back to when I was a wide-eyed child in New York City, I've never seen anything that comes close to a Cirque du Soleil show. I haven't seen nearly as many of their thirty different versions as I would like, but each one I have been lucky enough to observe has been spectacular. OVO is no exception.

MOVIE REVIEW: LIKE CRAZY
LIKE CRAZY This love story is interesting enough, but fraught with pain. I'm sure very many people will relate to the story, in one way or another, if not nearly exactly, and I think there's something comforting in the pain to see it on

FORMER DANCING WITH THE STARS CONTESTANTS WITH WHOM I WAS MOSTLY UNFAMILIAR This list is similar to yesterday's list of former Dancing With The Stars contestants whom I had never even heard of before their appearances on the show. I find

LIST: PEOPLE I NEVER HEARD OF BEFORE DANCING WITH THE STARS
PEOPLE I NEVER HEARD OF BEFORE DANCING WITH THE STARS I really have no idea what made me think of this list to begin with, but once I started musing about the many supposed “stars” who've appeared on this show in that guise, my mind ke

MOVIE REVIEW: ALBERT NOBBS
ALBERT NOBBS Albert Nobbs is weird and slow. But Glenn Close may just deserve an Oscar nod for her performance. This film is like something from the mind of Ryan Murphy. For those of you not in the know, he's the creator-producer of G

MOVIE REVIEW: YOUNG ADULT
YOUNG ADULT Young Adult premieres in Los Angeles tomorrow, so I figure I'll get a jump on the reviews now, if I can save even one person the price of admission. I feel that films at this time of year should be upbeat and fun, not slow and

EVENT: DIVINE DESIGN GALA
DIVINE DESIGN GALA This was one event that could be truly called an "event!" There were several parts to the evening, and the entire shebang was looser than the rest of the big charity dinners I've been to, which was a pleasure. I'm abs
