TRIBUTE: TRIBUTE TO MY PRECIOUS LITTLE MOTHER

I've begun this tribute to my precious little mother, May Rose Salkin, several times, but just can't get through it in one sitting. As I speak with the oh-so-many people who loved her, new thoughts come to me to share with you.

TRIBUTE: CLARENCE, THE SINGING DOG

TRIBUTE: CLARENCE, THE SINGING DOG Mr. X and I could not have asked for anything more out for our choice of the one being to share our lives. Clarence was the best dog I’ve ever seen or heard of. Not only was he the sweetest, most loving and caring and affectionate pal ever, but he literally didn’t give us even one second to be angry at him for in the almost eighteen years that we were blessed to have him with us.

4/13/11 The biggest sighting EVER! Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie! Sitting just four rows in front of me at the Ahmanson Theatre for opening night of God Of Carnage. They both had slicked-back longish hair and were as quiet and sedate as can be. I don’t get excited over any sightings, in general, unless it’s a sports guy or someone I have a slight celeb crush on, (Simon Baker, Hugh Jackman, Tom Welling,) but I was positively giddy over this one. They’re my favorite couple ever. I love their kindness and generosity, and am so thrilled that they found each other in time to share their riches, including of spirit, with so many children.

AWARD SHOWS: GOLDEN GLOBES 2012

In an incredibly busy week-end that included not only my birthday but four important post-season football games and a new and definitely improved Miss America, I just had to turn down dinner invitations to stay home and watch the Golden Globes live, solely because of host Ricky Gervais' return gig. He was still excellent, and provided most of the very few laughs to be had on this snoozefest, but he was better last year when his controversial lines took us all by surprise. This year, the assemblage was holding their collective breath, so it didn't have the same impact. And he toned it a taste, to boot. The Jodie Foster stuff was priceless, though. If he hosts again next year, just when everyone thought they could relax, I hope he lets them have it full-force again.
